Welcome to the School Council

The School Council

We like to meet on a Wednesday morning, but sometimes have to meeet at other times if something important occurs.


All matters being discussed have come from all the children in the school at their regular classcouncil meetings


Often things that we think will improve the school are taken to Mr Bridge when we have clearly thought about the issues.

We have recently helped choose our new Deputy Headteacher Mrs Matthews when we interviewed her

How long we've been running

We have now been running for several years now, but the excitement always returns at the beginning of the year when we get the chance to vote in an election. Some of the promises made are really outrageous


Once we have decided on our class and school councillor we can meet to discuss issues that are important to the pupils of Leigh Beck Junior School.

 

On October 22nd we will be taking part in a school scouncil meeting when we meet with other school councils across the island, arranged by the Canvey Schools Partnership.

The Committee

We have : a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer and a Secretary .

The Committee meet to discuss the Agenda for the School Council.

Ongoing Projects

We are currently looking at ideas to improve our school fruit stall. We are also looking at Peer Mediation so that we can develop our own strategies to sort out arguments in the playground.

Our Successes

We have raised a lot of money for charity when the whole school dresses up to support Comic Relief or Children in Need

We hope the school council will go from strength to strength.
